[Truly memorable experience of my life, NEAN 2007]

It has been a week since NEAN 2007 forum was over, but while I am asleep, I still dream about NEAN. We learned, laughed and shared our dreams in this community. When I think about my experience with NEAN, I think of 3 words: challenge, friendship, and fun.

NEAN provided me an intensive week of learning with seminars, lectures and round table talks led by renowned government officials, academics and professionals, which undoubtedly broadened my horizon on issues concerning integration process in Northeast Asia. Presentation on the feasibility of Asia Currency Unit was yet a bigger challenge given the short preparation time, but surely deepened my understanding at the same time. More importantly, NEAN offered a valuable platform to meet and make friends with potential future leaders of different backgrounds. Apart from serious academic discussion, there was FUN! Culture nights as well as city tour arrangements brought us laughs while at the same time enhanced mutual trust and removed misconception.

Through talks with other delegates, we were, with one accord, all impressed by the well-organized arrangement by NEAN OC. Ice breaking, discussion sessions, culture night, city tour, field trip, gala night¡Šall of these elements served their own purposes but were so well mixed into the whole program. We can image the many stayed-up nights behind the forum for OC members and volunteers. We admire your proficiency, and thank you so much for your hard work!!!

I felt extremely grateful to be selected as the best delegate in the economic session as all the other delegates are so excellent. I owe our team¡¯s success to joint efforts and mutual stimulation with other delegates. In this one-week forum, we traversed nation boundaries to learn from each other, dedicated ourselves to a common dream of integration, and practiced this dream by forging long lasting friendship unbounded by language and culture diversity. A rewarded effort, a group of lifetime friends, and a tour of fun and excitement, make NEAN 2007 a truly memorable experience of my life!

¡°Lifelong Memories in NEAN 2005¡±

If Luo Yi didn¡¯t tell me about NEAN, I do believe that I will regret for my whole life. NEAN stands for Northeast

Asia Network, not only in economics, politics, environment and culture industry, but also in life, career, friendship and beliefs.

The keynote speech given by ex-president Kim inspired me to remember that treat people like treat heaven and understand people before go to pursue your own ideals. High team-spirit in IT workshop, fierce debating in Economic workshop and marvellous creative thinking in culture festival all left me unforgettable impressions about the enthusiasm, intelligence and responsibilities of NEAN delegates from different nations. Furthermore, we had much more fun in heavy drinking, crazy dancing in MB Club, happy shopping in Insa-dong and wonderful cultural night.

Thanks to NEAN 2005, I not only made many good friends, but also learnt much about NEA, which is full of promising opportunities and real challenges. More important, NEAN 2005 refreshes my original opinions about NEA, makes me feel more interested in NEA and help me rethink about my responsibilities for NEA.

Last but not least, to my heart¡¯s content, I wanna express my sincere gratitude to OC members for their great efforts and their wholehearted devotion to NEAN 2005.

¡°NEAN 2004: Comment¡±

It is my pleasure to take the opportunity to participate in this plentiful NEAN 2004. My first impression is that I joined a very intensive forum: we prepared the group presentation in a short time, we knew a group of new friends in few days, and we enjoyed the fruitful events in the whole program. I savor the life in Yonsei very much!

The second impression is the competent staffs the main soul of the forum. I do believe that if the forum ran without the staffs¡¯ attentive organization, all delegates would not have build up the unforgettable friendship so fast and learn the earnest attitude by heart. Especially, when I saw the Yonsei Cheers, it boosted my morale. I appreciate it very much!

"What I Learned from NEAN 2004"

During the forum, there has been a consistent message to us that "we are the futer leaders who will solve the Northeast Asian(NEA) problems by putting our heads together." This vision and its strong impetus impressed me a lot. (I believe I heard the phrase "future leader" more than seventeen times in five days.) This sense of mission is becoming a strong momentum in me to purse the happiness of the entire world. It has huge meaning because we tend to be so individualistic in this society that we do not care about others, while thinking about "maximizing utility" of our own.

Now, when I think about my career, there is always this thougt that is "How can I work as a leader for the betterment of Northeast Asia?". This sense of mission is the greatest learning through NEAN 2004, I believe.

What cannot be forgotten when I look back at NEAN 2004 is the people I met there. Five days were not enough to get to know everyone, but I believe it was just a beginning at which we can start something.

¡°A Moment in Seoul: NEAN 2004¡±

2004, with participation in NEAN 2004, has become one of the most wonderful memories in my heart, deeply and insistently. From the very beginning to the end, it contributed a lot of fresh feelings to my calm life, full of friendship, interaction and update information in this region, sure. The one week in Seoul has become a dream, which make me really not want to wake up and motivate me to write it down partially a recollection instead of comments, moreover, as a present for all of the staff and friends in NEAN 2004 from me, Xiao in Beijing.

It¡¯s really a hard process for me to attend NEAN 2004 finally through the negotiations with the embassy in VISA events. The chairperson Yongkun Kang, work staff Heymi and Minju helped me a lot by fax, calling and mail and I really should thank them.

Icebreaking time is the first section of the whole activity, which makes us know each other more quickly. The Lego game helped us acquire much sensitive information about leadership and communication: how to do effective jobs in an environment short of communicative ways, how to give clear orders to organize a complicated process and how to motivate your partners and get their trust.

In the last days, the schedule was tight but valuable. The qualities of panel and speeches impressed me a lot. Almost every one was trying their best in the preparation for presentation and debate, the two missions of politics workshop where I was. We stayed up late in the basement to do the discussion and often debated with each other one some arguments. Only one word can be used to describe the feeling of mine: cool! That is what we called network, right? Though there are some evaluations to motivate the delegates and their job, in my point of view, everyone is the best based on the hard work in the mid-nights. And when I got the certificate from Chairperson Kang with smile, I found all of the hard work in these days was worthy enough.

Too many things to tell and too little thing can be expressed very well, the knowledge, friends, perspective and leadership I got from NEAN is hard to calculate and describe. You guys really did a good job and I really become more and more enthusiasm about the coming NEAN 2005.

All things passed but all things left. The moment in Seoul, the best memory given by you: my NEAN 2004. Thank you very much.
